I Shed Tears Of Joy When You Built A House For A Homeless Elderly Woman; You’re Very Kind!- Chief Tells Bawumia

The Omanhene of Akomadan, Nana Boakye Akuamoah Boateng II has revealed how he was reduced to tears by the incredible benevolence of the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a few years ago.

About 4 years ago, Dr. Bawumia responded positively to a documentary which brought to bare the sad state of an 82-year old leper who had been abandoned and lived in a deplorable mud house with her grand daughter.

Dr. Bawumia went to the aid of the poor old woman by building a brand new house for her at Motori in the Wa West district of the Upper West Region.

Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Akomadan in the Offinso North Constituency of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, the Akomadan Omanhene recalled Dr. Bawumia’s remarkable gesture saying “I shed tears when Dr. Bawumia went to the rescue of a poor woman. This woman was a very poor woman living in a dilapidated building but Bawumia saw her plight and said he will build a house for her. It touched my heart and I said, this is a leader”.

“How Bawumia was able to reach out to this poor woman and built a house for her was really touching. I was really touched…You (Bawumia) are kind. You are a kind and compassionate man who ought to lead this country.”

The Offinsohene further commended Dr. Bawumia for his compassion for lepers and underprivileged in society.

“This (building a house for the poor woman) is not only what I have observed about him. Whenever he is celebrating his birthday, he celebrates it with lepers and have meals with them…What kind of a man is this? It is very rare to find such kind people”, he added.

The Offinsohene added; “Not only this, he (Bawumia) is knowledgeable. He is visionary. He is kind and also compassionate.”
