I’m Utterly Disappointed In Dampare – Kabilla

James Kwabena Bomfeh alias Kabilla says he is utterly disappointed in the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare.

The former CPP General Secretary took a swipe at the IGP over his response to President John Mahama’s directive to him to establish investigation into the deaths that occurred during the 2020 and 2024 elections.

A letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, read that the President has instructed Dr. Dampare to initiate an immediate investigation into the deaths of eight (8) persons during the 2020/24 elections.

The letter further said;“These incidents, which occurred in various parts of the country, have left a lasting scar on our democratic process, and it is imperative that justice is served for the victims and their families.”

But to Kabilla, he expected the IGP to have responded by filing his initial reports regarding the incidents to the Police and also making them public than saying he was setting up a Committee to do the investigation.

Miffed by the Dampare’s reply to set up a special Committee, Kabilla exclaimed; “I am disappointed…I am not enthused. I am not happy and I don’t think that should be the response of the IGP.”

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, he queried; “Is the IGP telling me that he is now constituting a Committee to do the work the State security should have done or ought to have done and ought to have concluded now at the prompting of President Mahama?”

He also asked; “Is the IGP telling us truly, well and truly that the Police Service has no single report on the issues of Techiman South,, on the issues of Obuasi East, on the issues of Ahafo Ano North, Okaikwei Central  and other flashpoints? Is the IGP telling us they have no report and now setting up a special Committee into it?”
