The second tranche of IMF cash has hit the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) account today January 23, 2024, according to revelation from sources to Ghmessenger.
The IMF Mission Chief for Ghana, Stephane Roudet at a joint press conference between the IMF, Bank of Ghana and Ministry of Finance disclosed last Friday that the second tranche of the $600 million would be disbursed to the BoG account “in a matter of hours”.
The transfer of the $600 million is said to have officially hit the Central Bank’s account to be used accordingly.
With this amount in the account, Ghana has therefore received a total of $ 1.2 billion out of the $3 billion approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bail out Ghana’s economy.
