It Won’t Be Under Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Gov’t That Students Won’t Write BECE – Salam Mustapha

National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Salam Mustapha has assured this year’s BECE students that they will write their exams despite fears that the exam may not come on due to government’s indebtedness to the examining body, WAEC.

WAEC expects government to pay over 90 million cedis to conduct the exams.

According to reports, WAEC has received only GH¢2.3 million out of GH¢95.83 million which, to them, is not enough to organize the exams scheduled to begin on Monday, July 8 to July 15.

The examining body is demanding at least 50 percent payment of the total amount to commence the exams.

Although the BECE remains in limbo, the governing party’s youth leader says the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration will never oversee a situation where students cannot write BECE.

“I can state emphatically that it won’t be under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia administration that will record in the history of Ghana that our wards will not write BECE. It will not happen”,  he asserted on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
