It’s Not ‘National Economic Dialogue’ That Will Tell Ghanaians Their True Economic State – Kwesi Pratt

Seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt has raised concerns about the state of Ghana’s economy.

Commenting on the National Economic Dialogue by President John Dramani Mahama held yesterday at the Accra International Conference Centre, Mr. Pratt opined that it doesn’t take an economic forum for Ghanaians to know their true economic condition.

The 2-day event brought together top economic experts, policymakers and industry leaders to address Ghana’s economic challenges.

The forum, an initiative of President John Dramani Mahama, is aimed to thoroughly examine Ghana’s economic difficulties and formulate concrete actionable solutions.

Citing various incidents where the ordinary Ghanaian can hardly afford food or pay their bills among other life challenges, the Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper believed the best judges of the economy are the citizens, not politicians.

He also slammed successive governments for constantly relying on foreign grants, wondering why with all the rich resources Ghana has, the nation continues to remain in the trenches.

Kwesi Pratt blamed Ghana’s economic woes on bad leadership saying “bad leaders are our main problem”.

“Leaders who don’t think about our country but will still follow whatever the whites tell them to do. That’s the problem”, he stressed.

He made these submissions on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
