Kotoko Fan’s Death: Police Arrests 6th Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 6th suspect in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the football match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC and Nsoatreman FC.

The suspect, identified as Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, also known as Akosua Black Chinese, has been taken into custody.

This arrest brings the total number of suspects apprehended in relation to the incident which led to the stabbing to death of a Kotoko fan named Francis Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley, to six.

On Tuesday, the Police arrested three individuals and two more on Wednesday.

The suspects include former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who has been released on bail.

The Police, in a statement, assured the public they will ensure justice prevails.

“The intelligence-led operation and investigation remain ongoing to ensure all perpetrators connected to the incident are arrested and brought to justice”, a part of the statement said.
