Kotoko Propose Key Change To Ghana Premier League Foreign Player Regulations

Asante Kotoko are set to propose a significant change to the Ghana Premier League regulations.

The club plan to submit a proposal at the next Ghana Football Association (GFA) Congress to increase the number of foreign players allowed in each matchday squad.

Currently, clubs can register a maximum of five non-Ghanaian players but are limited to fielding only three in a match.

Kotoko believe that increasing this quota would enhance competition and strengthen the league overall.

This proposal follows the club’s recent signings, including the impressive Congolese defender Samba O’Neil, who has already made a significant impact.

Additionally, they have brought in two Sudanese players: forward AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and defender Esmat Hassabalbagi.

With plans to add more foreign talent to their squad, Kotoko aims to bolster their chances of success in the upcoming season.

It remains to be seen whether the proposal will garner enough support from the GFA Congress to be implemented.
