Leave Akua Donkor’s Number On Ballot Paper ‘Blank’ If… – Kwamena Duncan To EC

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has suggested to the Electoral Commission (EC) what to do with the ballot positioning to maintain peace and stability prior to and during the election.
The Electoral Commission issued a 10-day ultimatum to the Ghana Freedom Party to choose a new flagbearer following the demise of Akua Donkor.
As to whether or not the party will exit the elections, recent press releases by the Ghana Freedom Party give conflicting reports as one says the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Philip Kwabena Agyemang, popularly called Roman Fada, has been nominated flagbearer while the other claims the party has withdrawn from the elections.
This notwithstanding, Roman Fada has filed his nomination at the Electoral Commission.
Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kwamena Duncan advised the EC that should the Ghana Freedom Party fail to be certain on their new flagbearer as they are currently divided, the Commission should not attempt to rearrange the ballot positions cautioning it will disrupt the candidates’ campaign strategies.
“If they don’t have a replacement, the best thing the Electoral Commission can do is to leave that portion blank”, he remarked.
