Leprosy Aid Committee Thanks Bawumia For His benevolent Support To Lepers
The Leprosy Aid Committee has paid glowing tribute to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his immense support to lepers in Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia, who doubles as a patron of the Lepers Aid Ghana, is noted for his humanitarian support to members of the Weija Leprosarium and on New Year’s Day, invited them to his residence for lunch.
In appreciation of his benevolence over the years, the Lepers Aid Committee presented a citation of honour and appreciation to Dr. Bawumia.
Presented by Father Andrew Campbell, the Resident Director of the Weija Leprosarium, the Lepers Aid Committee said the citation is in recognition and appreciation of Dr. Bawumia’s “dedication to the welfare and dignity of people affected by leprosy in Ghana”.
The citation further read; “Your selfless contributions have set a standard of service that resonates across Ghana and beyond and has brought renewed focus to improving the lives of leprosy sufferers.”
“In gratitude and respect, we honour you, Your Excellency. God bless you for your love and dedication.”
Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to the Lepers Aid Committee for the citation and pledged to continue his kindness to the lepers.
Dr. Bawumia was later joined by his wife, Samira, to serve the lepers lunch.
