Let Bygones Be Bygones; Come Back And Let’s Work! – Sefa Kayi To NDC

Kwami Sefa Kayi, host of Ghana’s leading morning show “Kokrokoo” aired on Peace FM, has opened his arms to embrace the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) back to his programme after almost 5 years since the party abandoned Kokrokoo.
The NDC, in May 2020, boycotted the Kokrokoo platform citing unfair representation.
“Specifically, the reason for this boycott has to do with the unreasonable decision of the producers and host of the programme to permanently reserve one (1) of the two (2) slots the party has traditionally had on Wednesdays on the show to Mr Allotey Jacobs, who is often introduced by the host of the programme as a ‘Social Commentator with strong leanings to the NDC’, ostensibly to spite the NDC”, a statement by the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, said.
This, however, would not be the first time the party has taken such a position as it also boycotted Accra-based Joy FM in 2011.
Kwami Sefa Kayi, widely called Chairman General, in an interview on his show on Monday, February 3, 2025, with Nana Kesseh hosting in his stead, implored the NDC to return stressing “I am the head of Kokrokoo, I take full responsibility for it (conflict) and then let’s move on”.
He further noted there have been several attempts backdoor to bring the party back but it hasn’t yielded fruits yet, nonetheless, to him, it is time for the two sides to “let bygones be bygones”.
Reaching out for a “symbiotic relationship” with the NDC, Chairman General asserted; “This is a new year…let bygones be bygones. They should come back and let’s work. At the end of the day, we need them and they also need us. We hold the biggest platform and they are also in government. They are also a very formidable political party and in government at this time, so whatever be the case, we need each other.”
