‘Mahama Lacks Integrity’ – Nana Akomea Reacts To BBC Interview

Nana Akomea has slammed former President John Dramani Mahama over his interview on BBC.
The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, during the interview, answered questions bordering on various topics involving the anti-gay bill, his 24-hour economy policy among others.
Expressing his take on the bill, he said; “It’s against our culture; I mean African culture. It’s against our religious faith, Muslim and Christian and all that but I think that we must look at the bill and the President must indicate what he finds wrong with that bill and send the bill back to Parliament or alternatively he must send it to the Council of State and get the Council of State’s advice.”
Asked if he will sign the anti-LGBTQ bill into law if he becomes President, Mr. Mahama responded; “It depends on what is in the bill.”
Joining the panel on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Nana Akomea, the Deputy Chairman of NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, highlighted the double standards of John Mahama.
Dwelling on Mahama’s responses regarding the bill, Nana Akomea found it ridiculous that he (Mahama) and his NDC would pressure President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sign the bill but can’t declare an emphatic position on whether or not he will sign the bill.
To Nana Akomea, “Mahama lacks integrity” and also described the former President’s posture as “hypocritical”.
“He talks from both sides of his mouth”, Nana Akomea added, alluding to various comments and activities by John Mahama such as he bastardizing Nana Addo’s Free SHS policy, provision of computers to students among others.
