Men, Women Marrying Themselves Is An Abomination – Rev. Lawrence Tetteh
Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, Founder and President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, has taken a swipe at Ghanaians who are opposed to the anti-LGBTQ+ bill aimed at prohibiting homosexual practices in Ghana.
The Pastor applauded the lawmakers fighting for the passage of the bill, stressing all three main religions in the country have frown on homosexuality.
He insisted that homosexuality is an abomination and also dismissed assertions that the bill violates human rights.
“I feel very disappointed when Ghanaians like you and I will complain about the anti-gay bill. We have values in this country. We have cultural and moral values in this country. Men marry women and so whether you are Muslim, a traditional ruler or the church, homosexualism is an abomination.
“I applaud the people who stood with this bill. The politicians should be very careful with the way they dilly-dally with this issue. For once, the Christians, the Muslims, the traditional rulers and the Chiefs are all together on the issue. We have moral values in this country that say that a man should not marry a man”, he said in an interview on TV3.
Anti-Gay Bill
The anti-LGBTQ+ bill has been adopted to check homosexual practices, ensuring any member of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana and any person who advocates homosexual activities are punished.
The bill is currently before Parliament awaiting approval, however, the lawmakers are divided on passing it.
Persons found guilty, when the bill is passed, will face a jail term or fine or both.
