NDC Are Desperate To Become Majority In Parliament For 6 Weeks Because They Know They’ll Lose Dec 7 Election – Bawumia
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taunted the opposition NDC wondering why they are so keen on occupying the majority position in Parliament through unorthodox means with just six weeks to elections.
Last week, the Speaker of Parliament declared vacant the seats of four Members of Parliament who have filed to contest December election on another ticket but the Supreme Court, in a ruling, has stayed the decision of the Speaker and directed Parliament to recognize the MPs.
The NDC Minority Caucus, despite the Supreme Court directive, insists they are the majority in Parliament.
The Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia, tackling the matter, found the NDC to be desperate saying “the NDC knows that they are losing this election”.
“They know that we are winning this election, so they are panicking…Just think about it. We have six weeks to an election and their only concern is that they want to be a majority for six weeks when they have been a minority for 8 years. Why? What is the rush? It is because they know they have lost the election and they want to taste the majority position for six weeks”, Dr. Bawumia said.
Dr. Bawumia is therefore well-convinced that the New Patriotic Party will overwhelmingly win majority of the seats in Parliament, come December 7.
“For us, we know that we are going to stay focused. We are the majority and we will be the majority party on December 7…We will be the majority party, make no mistake about it. NPP will win a decisive majority on December the 7th. And why are we going to win a decisive majority? It is because of the work we have done . We are getting support across every constituency because of the work we have done.”
