NDC’s ‘Enough Is Enough’ Demo Is ‘Unlawful’ – Kabilla
James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called “Kabilla”, has labeled the National Democratic Congress’ demonstration on Tuesday, September 17, as unlawful.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) embarked on protest against the Electoral Commission (EC) demanding a forensic audit of the voter’s register.
According to them, the register is replete with irregularities, hence calling for an independent body to audit it.
Commenting on the issue during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, the former CPP General Secretary slammed the leadership of the National Democratic Congress, particularly mentioning the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, saying “he knows what they are doing is against the law”.
He challenged their request for an independent authority to audit the register, stressing “there has never been any audit of Electoral Commission’s voter register by any independent body in this country. I am telling you!”
“Those claiming that there was an independent audit, so-called, sponsored by UNDP should tell us which body audited the EC’s register. KPMG didn’t audit any voter register; they don’t have the capacity to do that. They didn’t do that.”
