New Cocoa Season: Gov’t Increases Cocoa Prices To GH¢ 48,000

Government has increased the cocoa price to farmers at the farm gate to GH¢ 48,000 per tonne for the new cocoa season.

This means GH¢ 3000 per bag of 64 kg gross weight.

The new price takes effect from today, September 11.

The government in the middle of the 2023/2024 season, responding to fluctuations in cocoa prices on the international market, increased the prices from GH¢ 20,928 to GH¢ 33,120 per tonne, therefore this new price of GH¢ 48,000 represents 129% increase.
