New Year: Bawumia Throws ‘Lunch’ Party For Lepers
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has put smiles on the faces of lepers at the Weija Leprosarium with a New Year day lunch.
Bawumia is noted for supporting the lepers and often shares festive occasions with them.
On New Year’s day, Dr. Bawumia invited the lepers into his home to spend the day with his family, staff and friends.
Led by the resident Director of the Weija Leprosarium, Father Andrew Campbell, the lepers were made to feel at home.
It could also be recalled that Dr. Bawumia moving into his official residence as Vice President in 2017 also held a house-warming party for the lepers.
At today’s New Year’s launch, Dr. Bawumia said described the lepers as his friends and was pleased to host them at his residence.
On behalf of the Leprosy Aid Committee, Father Campbell presented a citation of appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for his immense support to the lepers across the country.
Dr. Bawumia, who is also a patron of Ghana Lepers Aid, was delighted for the honour and assured them that he will continue extend support to them.
