NPP Candidate, Kwabena Boateng, Wins Ejisu By-Election
Kwabena Boateng has retained the Ejisu parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party.
The NPP parliamentary candidate swept away 27,782 of the total votes cast representing 55.79% while his closest contender Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency who contested as independent candidate, polled 21,536 votes representing 43.24% in Tuesday’s by-election.
Mr. Boateng assured the constituents of development stating “development comes from the government…I came on the ticket of the government. Whatever development the State will share, my job is to make sure I lobby for the people of Ejisu”.
The Ejisu by-election was held due to the demise of John Kumah, Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for the constituency.
