ORAL Can Get $58 Million ‘National Cathedral’ Money Back! – Foreign Affairs Minister-Designate Assures

The Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured Ghanaians that the ORAL will retrieve some monies resulting from financial misappropriation.

The Minister-designate, appearing before the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, noted that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team has done a thorough work and will deliver their findings to the President soon.

“President Mahama has saved this country a great deal with the establishment of ORAL and all of us must support ORAL…The way forward for ORAL is that all the information that have come from patriotic Ghanaians, we will be handing over our report soon in the next few days to H.E. the President, the appointor, and then he will decide with his Attorney-General on the second phase of ORAL which is the execution phase, the retrieval phase, the prosecution phase; so that is the future of the ORAL”, he said.

Among their findings is the expenses that have gone into the controversial construction of the National Cathedral bythe erstwhile Akufo-Addo government which remains at ground level.

He assured the team will go after the monies that have been mismanaged stressing “I have a tall list of monies that can be retrieved. Sky train, we can get our 2.5 million dollars back. Agyapa, we can get our $12 million back. National Cathedral, we can get our $58 million back”.
