Our Aggrieved People Voicing Their Sentiments Is Part of Our Healing Process – NPP Amansie South DCE

Clement Opoku Gyamfi alias Kwame Poku CID says the members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party should be allowed to vent their spleen regarding their defeat in the 2024 general elections.

The party which was banking their hopes on their candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to break the eight-year governance cycle failed to achieve this aim as Ghanaians landed their main opponent a landslide victory.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia polled 4.6 million and John Dramani Mahama garnered 6 million votes respectively.

Following the ruling party’s defeat, some leading members like the Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi have been blaming President Nana Akufo-Addo and former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, for their election outcome.

Whereas some critics and NPP members are of the view that the blame game is too much and that the party should keep their wrangling internally though they must commit to an introspection to identify their problems and reasons why they lost the elections.

But to Kwame Poku CID, the District Chief Executive of Amansie South, allowing the party to voice their sentiments is a part of their healing journey.

“It’s part of the healing process”, he told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show.

He however cautioned the aggrieved individuals to sift through the information they let out to the public advising not everything is for public consumption.
