Parliamentary Standoff: No Soldiers Will ComeTo Parliament – Majority Leader
Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has discounted speculations that the Military may invade Parliament when it convenes following the brouhaha that the Minority claims majority in the House.
The Minority has indicated that they will take the majority chamber after the Speaker declared four seats vacant.
Though the Supreme Court has stayed the Speaker’s order, the Minority has refused to heed the court’s verdict but insists they will go ahead to claim the majority bench.
In view of this, there are concerns that the Military may be deployed to seemingly whip the Minority in line.
But Afenyo-Markin has refuted the claims stressing there will be no Military presence in Parliament.
“There will be no chaos in Parliament; We will not allow that. There will be no Military presence; they would have no business in Parliament. It is part of their (NDC) ploy. We will not fall into that trap”, he stated in an interview on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
