Patrick Boamah Declared Winner of Okaikwei Central After Recount

Patrick Yaw Boamah

Patrick Yaw Boamah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has successfully retained the Okaikwei Central parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections following a re-collation exercise conducted at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission.

The re-collation overturned an earlier declaration in which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Baba Sadiq, was announced the winner.

Boamah secured 21,099 votes, while Sadiq garnered 19,368 of the total votes cast.

In his victory speech, Boamah expressed his gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support.

He pledged to persist in advancing development projects and advocating for the community’s needs in Parliament.

“In elections, to compete is part of democracy. To lose is part of democracy and to win is also a part of democracy.

“So, let me congratulate my competitor, the NDC, and also use the opportunity to thank the teaming supporters of the NPP in Okaikwei Central and the national party.

“We fought a good fight and waged a very good campaign and God has been so good to us and for giving us victory”, he stated.
