‘Rebels Have Taken Over Ghana’ – Kwamena Duncan Blasts NDC ‘Looters And Attackers’

Kwamena Duncan

Kwamena Duncan has condemned the vandalism and destruction of properties by some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Some throngs of the NDC, after the victory of the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, resorted to attacks on State and private properties.

They razed down an EC office at Ayensuano in the Eastern Region, stormed and looted warehouses and storage facilities for food items, destroyed the Vice President and leader of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s billboards among other violent activities which took the intervention of the security forces comprising the Police and Military for calm to be restored.

Some unknown persons said to be fanatics of the NDC further tried to break into the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to take over the premises but their attempt was also foiled by the Military.

Contributing to Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kwamena Duncan lashed out at the President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress, blaming them for the misbehavior of their supporters.

“Rebels have taken over…The NDC had been psyched up that whether good or bad, they were going to visit mayhem”, he said.

He questioned the logic in the NDC winning the election and resorting to violence.

“This is supposed to be a civil action, a civil duty. Cast your ballot just to see who then become our leaders, this is the result?”

“We were told unite together for the Ghana we want. This the Ghana we want? That we are resetting Ghana, this is how we reset Ghana?”, he expressed his utter disappointment.

“If this is what it is that after elections, the days after, people will [become] feel insecure, then there is no justifiable reason; there cannot [forgive me] any sensible basis why we should go to the polls”, he exclaimed.
