Rescind Your Decision For All Of Us – NPP Youth Organizer ‘Begs’ Cynthia Morrison Et Al

Salam Mustapha

Salam Mustapha has appealed to the three Members of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have decided to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections as independent candidates.

The MPs are Cynthia Morrison, the current NPP MP for Agona West constituency in the Central Region, Kwadwo Asante, the current NPP MP for the Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region and Andrew Asiamah Amoako, currently an independent MP for the Fomena constituency in the Ashanti Region, now candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Due to the action, the Speaker, Alban Bagbin have declared their seats including that of Peter Kwakye-Ackah, NDC MP for Amenfi Central who is also contesting as an independent candidate, vacant.

This has gravely affected the New Patriotic Party’s representation in party.

Though the Supreme Court has placed an injunction on the Speaker’s ruling, the court decision is yet to be effected in Parliament.

Contributing to Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Salam Mustapha, NPP National Youth Organizer, has asked the aggrieved MPs to reconsider their decision to go independent.

“They should rethink their positions. They should rethink it. NPP doesn’t deserve this…If you actions are going to impair the growth and progress of the party, think about it again because it is the party driving all of us…They should rescind their decisions. It’s not too late to do so.”

To him, they should put the party’s interest first.

“I’m not sure that they resent their party…I’m sure they still love this party deep down in their heart…I beg them that they should rescind their decision for all of us, the collective interest. Pursuing power, holding power is not a child’s play and they know it”, he admonished.
