‘Staking Lotto Is Not A Sin’ – Broda Sammy

Ghanain gospel musician, Broda Sammy says gambling is not a sin against God.

According to him, a lot of Christians are being deceived to reject any better thing in life all in the name of serving God.

Joining the panel on UTV’s entertainment show “United Showbiz” on Saturday, Broda Sammy refuted claims that it is a breach of Christian faith for a believer to engage in gambling or Sports bet.

“You have removed every sweet thing from Christianity. You want to forcibly remove MyBet and lotto stakers too. The church I attend and even sung in on Sunday, it was a gambler who built it for us. Why don’t you want us to tell Christians the truth?”

“I haven’t done lotto before but if I dream and I am given numbers, I will definitely stake it. MyBet is not a sin. When something comes up and instead of us (Christians) taking advantage of it, we will wait for the leftovers. When a Pastor’s child wins American lottery, he will tell the child to go but if it is a poor person’s child, he will say it’s devilish, let’s pray over it”, he argued.

“Why don’t you want us to tell Christians the truth?”, he asked again and stressed “this is why when people come into Christianity and later find out the truth, they leave the church because if care is not taken, our religion will make the boys live a poor life”.

He insisted there is nothing wrong with a Christian staking lotto.

“When you tell the truth, they say you are unchristian. Every sweet thing has been removed from Christianity, even pork, you are forcing to remove it.”
