Stop Discussing Negative Matters About NPP On Radio, TV And Other Media Platforms! – NPP Members Cautioned

The leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party has issued a directive to all members and supporters to desist from discussing in the media matters relating to the party that create a bad image for them.

The party, in a statement issued and signed by their General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, pleaded with their loyalists to remain calm and resort to their internal machinery to address their concerns.

“…we humbly ask that all party faithful remain calm so that cooler heads may prevail at this time…please note that all Party members are hereby directed to immediately cease discussing Party issues that create unrest, negativity, and disaffection in the media and other related platforms”, parts of the statement read.

This directive follows the rant and raves by the former Member of Parliament for Dome/Kwabenya constituency, lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo, who has recently been touring the media disclosing what she believes was an unfair treatment of her and her family by some functionaries within the party.

She lambasted the Mike Oquaye Jnr., son of former Speaker of Parliament, Aaron Mike Oquaye, accusing him of denigrating her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, also known as Apostle Kantanka, prior to the 2024 general elections.

Adwoa Safo stated emphatically that Mike Oquaye Jnr., who was elected as the NPP parliamentary candidate to contest the Dome/Kwabenya seat but lost in the main election, seized the slightest opportunity anytime he mounted the podium to “insult” and cast aspersions on her father and herself.

She believed this and many other issues she raised on the media platforms contributed to the Dome-Kwabenya seat going to NDC parliamentary candidate, Akurugu Faustina Elikplim, and the embarrasing defeat of the NPP.

However, the party General Secretary is pleading with her and others who are embittered towards the party to cease fire.
