‘Stop This Foolishness’ – Blakk Rasta Warns Wayoosi Over ‘Akutia’ Song
Reggae musician and broadcaster, Blakk Rasta has reprimanded Kumawood actor, Wayoosi and celebrities who publicly declare their support for political figures in hope to receive favors from them.
Blakk Rasta took a swipe at Wayoosi who has composed a song widely believed to be against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Wayoosi is said to have defected from the governing party to the opposition National Democratic Congress on grounds that he had supported the NPP Running Mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, but the latter has turned his back on him.
Reacting to the actor’s reasons for supporting politicians which is driven by his personal gains, Blakk Rasta expressed his disappointment saying “listen to what Wayoosi is saying. So you went and supported him to win elections. For that matter, you expect that he would always have time to talk to you? It is all about me me me” and stressed “when you live in a country where people follow politicians in order to eat, it is a shame”.
“We have to stop this foolishness!”, he exclaimed, adding “you followed NAPO and helped him win. Why did you do that? For you to be able to eat or for him to be able to help the people of his constituency? It is sad that we still have those people”.
He cautioned all Ghanaian celebrities who choose to publicly declare their support for a politician or candidate to do so not seeking his or her own parochial interest but rather in the interest of the populace.
“And all the so-called celebrities who are running after politicians, your day will come. You guys will suffer.
“You can support whoever you want to support, but make it discreet.
“You come out flatly and support ABCD and FJDEV and at the end of the day you come back to us and tell us you supported them and they did not help you. Is it about you? It’s about the people,” he admonished.
