Stop Your Complaints; Fix The Problems! – Ghanaians Descend On Mahama
Some Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in President John Mahama over what they say are his continuous lamentations about the economy.
At a meeting with labour unions where the government aanounced a 10% pay rise, President Mahama justified government’s inability to offer a higher increase, saying the previous government criminally mismanaged the economy.
“We all knew the economy was in crisis but some of the things I am discovering myself, I mean it’s being a criminal handling of our economy. Ghana is a crime scene actually because how a government can have been so reckless? I cannot understand but we are faced with the reality and our options are very few”, President Mahama said.
But there are Ghanaians who think the President is complaining too much but must stop and concentrate on his promise of resetting Ghana.
Some commentators, responding to Mahama’s lamentations, said; “You campaigned on the promise of experience, not experiment and it was on that basis that we, the people of Ghana, voted for you. Therefore, such excuses will not be tolerated. We expect you to demonstrate a clear understanding of the path forward, building on the foundations you inherited”.
Another person replied; “This man is talking too much. He is the same person who told us in 2016 that the economy was left with bones and today he is talking like a saint. Only those with short memories believe your lies and double standards.”
“This is not news and you have been saying this during your Campaign. So why are you saying this again? You told us that you can change the fortunes of this country so what are all these excuses”, another concerned Ghanaian stated.
Also, a commentator who shares similar sentiments as the others said; “Too much talking is annoying paaa. What do we do to criminals? U said same during campaign and even made allegations to that effect. U set up a committee called ORAL to look into that. So, Mr president, we don’t have time at all for those continuing talks of loot and crimes. Do the job and stop complaining. Punish the criminals and stop lamenting. What kind of behavior koraaa is this?”
