Stop Your ‘Rambo Style’ Invasion Of People’s Homes – Sam Pyne To Govt

Former Mayor of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Sam Pyne has condemned the raid of the private residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, by national security operatives.
The national security opereatives led by Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat invaded the home of Dr. Addison, disabling his CCTV and requesting to find a vault in his residence.
Although the former Governor reportedly denied having a vault, the operatives are said to have made away with some precious items belonging to his wife.
“At the end of their raid, they found nothing. Unfortunately, some GH₵10,000 that was on the governor’s bed was missing. Some of these hungry foot soldiers, parading as National Security operatives, took the opportunity to steal. The governor’s wife’s earrings and necklaces were also not found, in other words, they stole them”, the Minority in Parliament led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin claimed at a press conference.
Commenting on the incident during “Kokrokoo” panel discussion programme aired on Peace FM on Friday, March 21, Sam Pyne wondered why the operatives would destroy the CCTV if they had no ulterior motives.
“If indeed you went there without any ulterior motives, let the cameras be there so that we could pull the footages of what you actually did as evidence against the accusations that you stole the wife’s money and jewelry”, he told host Nana Yaw Kesseh.
He vehemently rebuked the Mahama administration saying their “rambo style” in dealing with officials of the previous government on suspicion of their involvement in corruption is unacceptable and unlawful.
“This rambo style and aggression that they have adopted must stop. They should remove it from our politics and ensure a society where the laws are properly applied…Stop disgracing people, invading their privacy of other persons and intimidating people in this country; this is not why Ghanaians voted for NDC.”
