Surge In COVID-19 Cases In Ghana – Health Experts Warn

Health experts have raised alarm over the potential upsurge in COVID-19 cases in Ghana, as reports of new cases continue to emerge in various health facilities across the country.

Warning that the virus now presents itself with symptoms resembling malaria, experts are urging an acceleration in the ongoing vaccine drive to curb transmission.

Dr. Emmanuel Addipa-Adapoe, Senior Medical Officer at Ridge Hospital, shared his concerns after isolating one of his staff members who tested positive for COVID-19.

He emphasized the importance of wearing masks to prevent the spread and contraction of the virus.

In an interview with TV3, he said; “We have reached a point where many people believe they have the right to their lives and bodies in a democratic setting. However, it’s essential to recognize that these rights end where another person’s rights begin. We must be each other’s keepers. I believe we have begun to relax in educating the public about our current situation.”
