The Only Time Our MPs Hear Ghanaians’ Cry Is When They Have ‘Food’ – Charles McCarthy

Charles McCarthy, the editor-in-chief of the Hawk newspaper, has lambasted the members of Parliament over their attitude towards executing their duties.

To him, the MPs are supposed to be “governors” of the State but they have failed to live up to Ghanaians’ expectations.

According to him, the legislators are trading themselves for food instead of upholding the tenets of Parliament and ensuring the right things are done to better the lives of Ghanaians.

“The only time you will see both sides agitating is when you go take your documents to them without adding food…I’m saying the only time you hear them crying is when you send something to them without adding food to it”, he told Odi Ahenkan on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.

He emphasized that the parliamentarians only become active when their are filled up.

“If they are satisfied, they are covered, they don’t think about us again. They care less about us who voted for them.”

Charles McCarthy further blamed the lawmakers for the Ghana’s  economic woes stating “all the problems we have, it is generated from Parliament”.
