This Is A ‘Criminal Offence’; Arrest Them! – Kofi Tonto Charges IGP Over Artificial Water Shortage In Ashanti Region
Kofi Tonto has called on the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare to, with immediate effect, direct the arrest of some officials of the Ghana Water Company Ltd. (GWCL) in Ashanti Region.
Tonto vented his spleen on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show after listening to a report by the station’s reporter, Sampson Nyamekye, that the water company had created an artificial water shortage in the Region in protest against their leadership.
The Ashanti Regional GWCL is said to have intentionally closed the taps in the Region for weeks now.
Another more disturbing news is a report of cholera outbreak in the nation, hence aside water shortage affecting the individuals, it also goes to adversely impact the hospitals.
Kofi Tonto wondered how innocent Ghanaians should suffer due to the workers’ internal conflict.
“This is a criminal offence. I mean the Police should act on this ASAP. IGP should act on this, call the Regional Command to act on this ASAP.”
“How do you put an entire Region, millions of people in danger? I mean how can you do that?…You are almost denying people their right to existence”, he fumed.
He reiterated those behind the artificial water shortage should not go scot free.
“They must be arrested. I mean this must be prosecuted; this is not right!”, Tonto exclaimed.
