Three Persons Charged Over Leaked Serwaa Amihere ‘Sextape’

Serwaa Amihere

Three persons have been charged over the leaked intimate video of broadcaster Serwaa Amihere.

Serwaa Amihere has over the days become the topic for discussion on several media platforms and has been subjected to social media trolls following a video that surfaced on the internet showing her and a guy named Henry Amponsah, popularly known as Henry Fitz, in a cozy position in bed.

After the video went viral, there were rumors that Henry Fitz had orchestrated the leak.

Speculations indicated that Henry Fitz, who is widely reported to be a renowned wealthy man, had had sexual intercourse with Serwaa Amihere and they both recorded their intimacy but after the accused person had kept the video(s) and has been blackmailing Serwaa since 2019.

Serwaa is said to have become fed up with the blackmail and refused to meet the financial demands by Mr. Fitz triggering him to release the video publicly.

However, Mr. Fitz has denied the allegations, stressing he has over 50 videos of himself and Serwaa having deeper intimate sessions that if he wanted to indeed release a video, he would have done so by making those videos public.

He also stated emphatically in an interview on TikTok monitored by Ghmessenger that he would never subject himself and his family to disgrace, thereby claiming Serwaa is trying to court sympathy for herself because the video is out and by so doing, accuses him of leaking it under the guise of a blackmail.

Law Suit

Following the media back and forth analysis of the issue trying to figure out who is telling the truth and the fact that many people are disappointed in Serwaa Amihere as she parades herself as hardworking individual whose industriousness has resulted in her popularity and prosperity, Henry Fitz and two other people have been sued.

The Ghana Police Service has filed charges against three persons said to be in connection with sharing the intimate video of Serwaa Amihere.

The individuals identified by the law enforcement agency are Edem Saviour Ketti, a filmmaker; Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, a trader; and Henry Fitz.

Extortion

According to the suit, an undisclosed person had first called Serwaa Amihere’s make-up artiste demanding she informs the journalist to pay a sum of GH₵ 5000 or risk having her nude pictures shared publicly.

The number, on which the mobile money transaction was made, was registered in the name of the first accused Edem Saviour Ketti, the suit read.

Further details shared in a publication on myjoyonline indicated that despite the initial payment, Serwaa Amihere received a second threat from an unknown number that demanded a lump sum of GH₵20,000.

The suit further revealed that the accused persons, after receiving the money, still published the video.

It also says Serwaa Amihere reported the case to the Police and the first accused, Edem Saviour Ketti, was arrested at his hideout at Dzorwulu, afterwards the second accused, Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, was apprehended following an admission by the first accused that he had used his Ghana Card to register the said mobile money account number and handed it to the second accused before further handing it to the third accused, Henry Fitz.

The Police are on a manhunt for Henry Fitz who is at large.

Charges

The trio face four counts of charges related to sexual extortion and the intentional distribution of an intimate visual recording of Serwaa Amihere.

Other charges include conspiracy to commit a crime namely non-consensual sharing of intimate images contrary to Section 23 (1) of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960, and the Cyber Security Act 2020 on non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
