We, Bonos, Also Deserve A Running Mate – Dormaahene Tells Bawumia

The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, has appealed to the presidential candidate of governing New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to consider selecting his Running Mate from the Bono Region.

Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, who is also the Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, cautioned Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia not to follow the status quo by concentrating on a specific Region to choose his Running Mate from.

To him, should the Vice President cum NPP flagbearer prioritize other Regions over the Bono or Bono East Region, it may affect his quest to become President as Bono residents may refuse to vote for him and the New Patriotic Party.

“Your Excellency, please, I know very soon you will select your running mate. If you have selected one already, I haven’t heard… There are many people in most of the regions, but if you are not careful and you focus only on some regions, they will vote for you, but the rest of us will vote against you.”

“Your Excellency, the thing I will appeal for is for the Bono region to be remembered… I have seen you have come here with sons of the region,” he stated.

The Dormaahene proceeded by suggesting names that could potentially occupy the Running Mate slot, citing Martin Adjei Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, and Mahama Afful; all members of the New Patriotic Party.
