We Can’t Forget Your Generous Support For Our Community – Amenfi Zongo Tells Bawumia
Residents at Amenfi Zongo community in the Western Region could not hide their appreciation to Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his kind gesture to them.
Dr. Bawumia was in Manso Amenfi in the Amenfi Central constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Western Region on Sunday and during his engagement with stakeholders, the Zongo community recalled how Dr. Bawumia responded swiftly to their request to renovate their mosque.
According to a Spokesperson for the community, Dr. Bawumia visited them prior to the 2016 elections to seek their support and when the NPP won and he became Vice President, he returned to express gratitude to them in 2018.
It was during this visit, the Spokesman recalled, that the then Zongo Chief made a request on behalf of the Zongo community for Bawumia’s support to renovate their mosque.
“A few days after he left, he sent someone to get the estimates for the project and just a few weeks after submitting the estimates, he sent us the money to undertake the project and today our mosque has been fully tiled and in a better shape because of your support”, the Spokesperson said.
He added; “I stand here on behalf of the Zongo community in Amenfi municipal to express our immense gratitude to the Vice President for his kind gesture.”
”It was the wish of our late Zongo Chief to meet you again to express our gratitude to you for your kind support but he is no more. That was his wish and since he is no more, we are doing that on his behalf and on our own behalf.”
The Zongo community, while expressing their support to Dr. Bawumia, for his Presidential bid, also prayed for God’s favours.
The Zongo community was well-represented at the event with community leaders including Chiefs, Imams, elders and women.
