We Need Jobs, Not ‘Credit Scoring’ – Kwaku Manu Replies Bawumia
Actor Kwaku Manu has rubbished Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s credit scoring initiative to alleviate the financial pressure on Ghanaians.
The actor, speaking on UTV’s “United Showbiz”, was of the view that the credit scoring which, according to the Vice President will enable the ordinary Ghanaian to purchase things on credit and pay in installments, is not a laudable initiative without first fixing the unemployment situation in Ghana.
“Jobs are more important than a credit scoring system because if you are unemployed, you can’t generate positive credit ratings to borrow things. Elsewhere, for you to get a credit card, you must be gainfully employed. Your wealth status determines the limit of your credit rating.
“Here in Ghana, those employed are fewer than those without jobs. The unemployed graduates are more than the employed ones. People are always in debt because things are expensive, and times are hard in this country. I will plead with the government to have mercy on us and run the country well so that we all can benefit”, Kwaku Manu said.
