We Will Bounce Back – NPP Guru Assures Ghanaians
A lead communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Asante Yeboah has implored the members and supporters of his party to eschew disharmony among them as they go into opposition.
The party was defeated in the Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary elections as the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress and former President, John Dramani Mahama, polled over 6 million votes to become the President-elect.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic and NPP presidential candidate, garnered over 4 million votes which weren’t enough to make his pursuit to become Ghana’s next President successful.
Engaging in a post-election analysis on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Richard Asante Yeboah opined that the NPP lost the election because their base failed to exercise their franchise on the election day.
Comparing previous elections to this year’s, the NPP stalwart noted that if their members and supporters hadn’t abstained from voting, they would have won the elections.
This notwithstanding, he challenged his party to, as part of their election postmortem, unite themselves as he expressed optimism over their future political fortunes.
“…if we unite, work hard and solve our internal problems, we can bounce back”, he asserted.
