We’ll Change NPP; Nobody Will Stand In Our Way – Boakye Agyarko
Boakye Agyarko has asked the New Patriotic Party to render an apology to its members and supporters as they engage in their election postmortem.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was mercilessly whipped in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections with their flagbearer garnering over 4 million votes as agasint the governing National Democratic Congress’ 6 million votes.
The NDC also holds majority in Parliament with over 180 members.
This election result is described as the most embarrassing under Ghana’s 4th Republic.
Reacting to the party’s election outcome in an interview with Peace FM, Boakye Agyarko, a stauch leading member and former Energy Minister, vowed that the party will undergo major structural reforms as they prepare for the 2028 elections.
To him, one of the reforms will be to change the party’s constitution.
Also, the party leadership, he insisted, must apologize to the members for what he stated as their “rude behavior” accounting for their defeat.
Further on restructing the party, he warned that no person within the NPP will be allowed to block them.
“This party will change and nobody will stand in our way…We will change this party come what may”, he exclaimed.
