Why Would A-G Send Ato Forson To Court Without Basis?; Stop This ‘Political Persecution’ Claim! – Nana Akomea Fires NDC

Nana Akomea, Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Corporation, has castigated the National Democratic Congress for describing the ambulance purchase trial involving the Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, and the Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as a “political persecution”.
The case which is before the High Court has taken an interesting turn as a third accused person, Richard Jakpa, claims the A-G approached him to help build a case against the Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame, according to Jakpa, met with him in the private residence of a Supreme Court Justice named Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi in a supposed plea bargain negotiation.
“A-G has on several occasions engaged me at odd hours to help him make a case against A1 and I have evidence for that. If he pushes me, I will open the Pandora’s box.”
“I don’t understand why the A-G will accuse me of defending A1 when I’m here to defend myself”, Jakpa said in court.
The opposition National Democratic Congress has accused the Attorney-General of politically persecuting Ato Forson.
But to Nana Akomea, this cannot be and is not the case explaining that the Attorney-General will not send Ato Forson to court without basis.
To him, what the opposition party is saying is nothing but hogwash saying “when you say it is political persecution, then it means there is no basis for sending the person to court, then you can say it is persecution. If that is the case, the court sitting on the case, they will throw it out. And why would the Attorney-General, without any basis, waste time and resources to send Ato Forson to court?”
He called on the NDC to stop making such comments, stressing his question “why would he send only Ato Forson to court?”
He made these submissions on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show.
