Wicked Agenda Against Wontumi BackFires!! Nananom Issue Stern Warning To The Public!!!

Chairman Wontumi

Surreptitious attempts by a youth group to hide behind the Manhyia Palace to execute a wicked agenda against the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly called ‘Chairman Wontumi’ has hit rough patches.

Credible information available indicates that the seat of the Asante Kingdom has issued strong caution against media houses and radio presenters not to attach the name of the palace with any group claiming to be speaking on its behalf.

Reports say Nananom are not happy with the group, who, according to sources, were organized by Aides of the Energy Minister, for issuing an empty ban against the Ashanti Regional Chairman from entering the Region and the Manhyia Palace.

The group members, who were said to have been contracted to do the bidding of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called ‘Napo’, as part of his onslaught against the NPP Regional Chairman has incurred the wrath of traditional authorities for usurping the powers of Asantehene.

According to reliable reports, Nananom are questioning the authorities with which the group issued that ban as no individual has the power apart from the King of Asante Kingdom to ban any person from entering the kingdom.

According to the Chiefs, Chairman Wontumi has not flouted any custom neither has he committed any offence to warrant his ban.

“We are cautioning everyone to be careful about using the name of Manhyia to perpetuate their agenda; the King is the only one who can ban someone from entering the land, no one can ban an Asante indigene, much less Wontumi from entering the land when no offence has been committed”, one of the Chiefs is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, information indicates that the informant who fabricated the allegations against Chairman Wontumi has refused to appear before authorities to adduce evidence to help in investigations.
