Your Manifesto Is Just ‘Empty’…How’s A Nightclub Going To Work 24 Hours? – Kwamena Duncan ‘Slaps’ Mahama

Kwamena Duncan has ridiculed the 24-hour economy policy of the former President John Dramani Mahama which, to the Ex-President, will increase Ghana’s productivity.

The former President cum flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress days ago launched his manifesto at the University of Education, Winneba, and outlined the policies he intends to implement to better the living conditions of Ghanaians should he become President again.

Among the policies is his flagship programme dubbed “24-hour economy” which he explained will ensure a 3-shift of 8 hours system.

Citing how this will work under his government, Mr. Mahama mentioned that nightclubs will work for 24 hours.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kwamena Duncan, a former Minister for Central Region, found it intriguing that nightclubs will run three shifts.

“Hospitality  industry; our restaurants, our discotheques, our night clubs, our hotels , 24/7, 24 hours a day”, Mahama said.

He questioned the feasibility of this 24-hour economy strategy, saying “nightclub operators are asking how is this going to work?”

To Kwamena Duncan, the NDC manifesto is empty and called on Ghanaians not to fall for the opposition leader.

“The field is now plain and clear that when you do comparison, the NDC manifesto is empty because we would have known the details of their headline slogan which is the 24-hour economy. The details they have offered us are that they will run a three/eight-hour shift. So, if you are President, you will be President from the morning to a certain time. If you are a Chief Director, it means we will have a Chief Director who will in the morning, a Chief Director who will work from the afternoon to evening and a Chief Director who will start from the evening till dawn.”

“If it was not democracy, we wouldn’t have a group that would so much disrespect the nation because if you talk about 24-hour three shift, you have virtually nothing in it”, he fumed.
